Ordering
Is there a minimum order? No. You can order a single bolt or a full pallet of base plates – there’s no minimum order value or quantity.
Do I need a trade account to order? No. Our prices are trade prices as standard, no account needed. Just add to basket and check out.
What payment methods do you accept? We accept Visa, Mastercard, and American Express through our secure checkout. All payments are processed with SSL encryption.
Can I order by phone or email? Yes. If you’d prefer to order directly, email hello@structuralsteelcomponents.com or call 07807 213790. We can send a payment details via bank transfer.
Can I get a quote for a larger order? Absolutely. Drop us an email with what you need and we’ll get a quote back to you, usually within a few hours.
Delivery
How quickly will my order arrive? Common stock items are dispatched same day when ordered before 12pm Monday to Friday, with delivery in 1–2 working days. Custom or unpopular fixings are typically dispatched within 3–5 working days. If you need something by a specific date, get in touch and we’ll confirm lead times before you order.
How much does delivery cost? Delivery is calculated at checkout based on order weight and size. Small fixings orders are sent by tracked courier. Larger orders (base plates, pallets of bolts) go via pallet delivery.
Do you deliver to site? Yes. We can deliver to workshop or site addresses across the UK. Just enter the delivery address at checkout. If access is restricted, let us know in the order notes and we’ll make sure the carrier is aware.
Which carriers do you use? We use trusted pallet networks and tracked courier services. All deliveries are tracked so you’ll know when to expect your order.
Do you deliver to Scotland, Northern Ireland, or the Highlands? Yes, we deliver across the whole of the UK. Remote and island locations may take an extra working day.
Need something urgent? Drop us a message and we’ll do what we can. We understand that steel goes up on a schedule and delays aren’t an option.
Returns & Refunds
What if my order arrives damaged or incorrect? Report any damaged or incorrect items within 5 working days of delivery. If the mistake is ours, we’ll cover return costs and arrange a replacement or full refund.
Can I return items I’ve ordered by mistake? Yes, provided the items are unused and in original condition. Return shipping is the customer’s responsibility. Please email us before sending anything back so we can confirm and provide a returns address.
Can I return custom or made-to-order items? Custom and made-to-order items are non-returnable unless they arrive faulty or not to specification. We always confirm dimensions before manufacturing to avoid any issues.
How do I arrange a return? Email hello@structuralsteelcomponents.com with your order number and a description of the issue. We’ll respond within one working day.
Products
Are your products CE marked? Yes. Our profiled plates and fixings are CE marked and manufactured to BS 7419 / BS EN 1090 standards.
What steel grade do you use? Our plates and fixings are manufactured from S275 structural steel as standard, which is the industry standard for UK steel frame construction.
Can I order custom sizes? Yes. If you need non-standard plate sizes, hole patterns, or bolt lengths, get in touch with your requirements. We manufacture in-house so we can accommodate most custom requests.
Do you supply primer? Yes. We stock zinc phosphate primer suitable for structural steelwork, available in our shop.
Do you supply to the public or trade only? Both. Our prices are trade level as standard, but anyone can order, whether you’re a fabricator, builder, farmer, or homeowner.

Steel Detailing
What detailing software do you use? We use Tekla Structures for all our steel detailing and CAD work.
What does your detailing service include? We produce full fabrication and erection drawings, material lists, and NC files. We work to your engineer’s design and your workshop’s standards.
Can you detail my project? Get in touch with your project details and we’ll let you know. We work on portal frames, multi-storey steel, mezzanines, and more. Visit our Steel Detailing page for more information.
